San Mateo County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution to transfer specific vector control operations and responsibilities
to San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District on April 8th, 2008. San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees reviewed and approved the transfer of services resolution during the board meeting on April 9th, 2008. San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees also approved a name change to San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District. |

Tire Recycling Event, San Mateo - San Mateo County will be hosting several tire recycling events throughout the county. Mosquito Abatement will be participating in the San Mateo location to educate residents on how to keep tires from holding water and prevent mosquito breeding grounds. Flyers also contain vouchers for tire recycling. |

Waste Tire Amnesty Event - The County of San Mateo will be hosting a series of FREE tire recycling days for San Mateo County residents. Residents may attend any of the events free of charge. A Tire Recycling Voucher must accompany tires brought to the events.San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District will be assisting at the Waste Tire Amnesty Event in Daly City.
