Personal Protection from mosquitoes
- Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during dawn and dusk. These are the times when mosquitoes are the most active.
- Wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors to protect against mosquitoes bites.
- Protect yourself against mosquitoes by using an effective insect repellent, such as DEET, Picaridin or Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus. Follow labeled instructions.
- Doors, windows, and screens should be in good working condition to prevent mosquitoes from entering your home.

Mosquito-proof your home
The best thing any resident can do to prevent mosquitoes is to eliminate standing water.
There are many common places around your own home that can hold standing water where mosquitoes can breed. Here are some tips on how to find and eliminate standing water.
